Ashok Mathews ACA CPA

Managing Partner, MENA

Ashok is a Chartered Accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) and a Certified Public Accountant (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). He brings more than a decade of audit and industry experience serving primarily financial services clients in New York (USA) and Saudi Arabia. Beginning his career in Ernst & Young (EY) and later working with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), he has led cross-functional audit teams on multinational banking, capital markets and mutual funds clients as well as privately held hedge funds and registered investment advisors. Additionally, Ashok also led financial reporting division of a multinational reinsurance company for several years.

Managing Partner JPMC Associates

Mathews is a Chartered Accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) and a Certified Information System Auditor (ISACA). He is an active member of the Ernakulam Branch of the SIRC of ICAI. Mathews founded JPMC Associates, (which is NGM's associate in India) in 1995, after almost two decades of financial accounting and audit experience in a broad spectrum of industries. Mathews' industry experience was obtained primarily in Zambia (Africa) and India, where he held leadership positions in financial accounting (in the entertainment, retail and manufacturing industry) as well as internal audit positions in semi-government owned mining companies. Since founding JPMC Associates, Mathews has specialized in servicing primarily financial services clients in several capacities including providing audit and attestation services, internal audits, concurrent audits and was one of the early pioneers of information systems audits in the Cochin area, working with premier brokerage houses and banking clients in the region. As one of the first CISAs in the Ernakulam Branch of ICAI, Mathews has also been involved in training both members and non-members of ICAI in pursuing the CISA certification.
